About Us

CELT - Centre for English Language Teaching was founded in 1989 and has been accredited by The British Council since 1993. Our school is the longest established independent institution offering English language courses in Cardiff, and is licensed as a Tier 4 Highly Trusted Sponsor (HTS) for students by the UK Border Agency.

It is our aim to offer top quality language programmes at affordable prices and provide our students with personal care and attention in a homely and friendly learning environment. The owners, Greg Nelson and Grace Durighello, are both qualified EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teachers with several years' experience and are
personally involved in the day-to-day running of the school
at every level.

We offer a range of English language courses throughout the year and although the school has grown quite a lot since we started, we are still essentially a small school.

Our Aims

To offer first class teaching at affordable prices, to offer students advice and assistance regarding their studies within a caring and supportive environment, to help students enjoy their experience in Cardiff.

Accommodation

We consider it very important that a student is made to feel 'at home' while attending a course at CELT. Our accommodation and welfare officer carefully chooses homestay providers for both our adult and teenage students and does everything possible to make sure that students are comfortable and enjoy their stay with us.

Many of our families have been hosting for several years, and are experienced in helping students from different countries and cultures feel at home. Living with the family and taking part in their daily life provides students with the opportunity to constantly practise their new English language skills and learn more about British culture.
